Notice the hand hammered frames, and hand carved rosewood boards. These saddles were very crude, and uneven frames. The gullet width was narrower than a standard trooper, most measure 6-1/2" compared to the standard 7". This tree is not original, the rigging is different, and the Indian frames were actually nailed to the boards, not bolted. Many people ask if this tree is worth rebuilding, If you ride a small horse or have kids that ride it might be ok, but it's not worth updating or spending money on

The leather on these Indian saddles were water buffalo, look for the hair follicles.
